Q: I want to play at another club, when can I do this?
A: You can play at other clubs free of charge from Monday to Friday, or pay a reduced green fee on weekend afternoons.  Advanced reservations can be made directly with the club you are visiting 12 days in advance of the day you wish to play.

A: There is a maximum of 8 visits to any one club per membership year and a maximum booking of two tee times for any one-card holder visit. All reservations are subject to availability.

Q: I don’t want to play at other clubs, why can’t I just pay for my own club?
A: At all Crown Golf courses all membership products now include the ability to play at all other courses in the group. We feel this offers a unique benefit to our members above and beyond that offered by other clubs/groups.

Q: Why have the membership categories changed?
A: At Crown Golf we believe in a partnership with our members. Therefore we wanted to create a basket of benefits for our members, which no one can match, at club level, nationally or beyond. To do this we had to rationalise the range of membership categories at all the clubs in order for us to give you the service and benefits you deserve. Crown Golf also wanted to build on the partnership between club and member by providing membership categories that gave discounts and fixed pricing to loyal members.

Q: What is the basket of benefits?
A: Open play at 33 clubs, the Levy card offering 10% discount on food and beverage, extended booking window to 12 days, loyalty discount* and fixed price guarantees*.

Q: How did you choose the membership category for me?
A: We put you in the most appropriate category to best match your current playing rights.

Q: What happens if I take up the 3 year membership and then move further away or have to relocate?
A: To provide the most accurate answer to our customers please see point 18 below taken from our membership guidelines:
18. A member wishing to relocate will have their membership transferred to the nearest available Crown Golf venue or affiliate. A member wishing to relocate must pay the appropriate membership and administration fees prevailing at the time of changing club. A member may not downgrade their membership. No refunds or release from contractual obligation will be provided to members relocating during the current year of any contract period. If no Crown Golf venue or affiliate is within 30 miles of the of the relocation address (as defined by AA route finder), refund or release from contractual obligation will be granted. Proof of relocation is a validated utility bill from the new address.

Q: What happens if I take up the 3 year membership and then fall ill and can't play?
A: Again, to provide the most accurate answer to our customer please see point 16 and 17 below from our membership guidelines:
16. You may suspend your membership due to ill health upon production of a Doctor's letter stating that you are unfit to play golf/use the facilities:
- if you have been a member for longer than 3 months
- For a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months
- Members must continue to pay fees during the period of suspension. The suspension period will be added to the end of your contract period
17. Upon death or proof of a debilitating medical condition your contractual obligations to Crown Golf are terminated. The balance of any advanced payments will be refunded from the 1st of the month following written notification.

Q: I am in the Navy and could get called away on tour at anytime, what happens to my membership contract?
A: Members of the armed forces are entitled to make use of our suspension policy if they are called on duty during their membership. You will need to provide ID for the specific armed forces in which you serve. (see separate question on suspension policy)

Q: My renewal request includes a charge for EGU/LGU fees, what is this and where does the money go?
A: We collect EGU/LGU fees on behalf of the relevant National and County golf unions as do most golf clubs in England.

Q: How do I benefit from paying the union fee and can I opt out?
A: In order for our golf clubs to be affiliated with the National and County unions we are required to collect the union fees relevant to your category of membership. This enables you as an individual to qualify for a CONGU Handicap and be eligible to take part in County or National events. Everyone who is a member of an EGU Afilliated Golf Club, and there are approximately 750,00 golf club members in England, is a member of the EGU. As a member of a Crown Golf Club, as per most other golf clubs in the country, you cannot opt out of paying the relevant union fees.

Q: What happened to the Senior Membership Category?
A: Senior Membership was only offered at a few clubs. By harmonising the membership categories across the group we can offer more benefits to all membership categories

Q: I was a Senior member. Does this mean there will be no more Senior competitions?
A: Our changes to categories will not affect your opportunity to play in senior events and these will continue in the future.
