Golf in Hertfordshire news: Luke Donald aiming for more glory

Monday, 26 July 2010

Hertfordshire's world number six Luke Donald says he is not satisfied with the two title wins he has already picked up this year and is aiming to add to his haul before the Ryder Cup gets underway in October.

Speaking while on his way to finishing third in last weekend's RBC Canadian Open, the 32-year-old set his sights on climbing further up the world rankings, but admitted he has missed some opportunities to further his progress over the last few years.

"I need to win more tournaments. Just contending isn't good enough if you want to be the best," he explained. "You [have to] go out there and beat the best continually, which I haven't done in the last few years."

Donald added that he had been disappointing with his putting in Toronto, but said he is looking forward to taking a four-week break from golf, after putting in a string of impressive performances since his triumph at the Madrid Masters in May.ADNFCR-2334-ID-800005195-ADNFCR
