O'Meara 'would not be surprised' at Woods return

Wednesday, 10 March 2010

Mark O'Meara has said he would not be surprised if Tiger Woods decides to play at the Tavistock Cup in 12 days' time.

The golfer and old friend of Woods said that it could be a matter of weeks before he returned to the sport, but believes he wants to play soon.

Talking about the return of the world number one, he spoke about the relationship between Woods and his coach.

"Hank Haney has come to town and they're working on stuff they normally work on. The Tavistock Cup might be a right fit to come back."

He added that after the Tavistock Cup, Woods would probably play in the Bay Hill tournament.

Bookmakers are reported to have stopped taking bets on Woods' comeback since so many commentators have announced that they thought it was likely he would make his return at the Masters in Augusta next month.
